Celebration of Reading Events Feature Alumna Author and UA Student
Michelle Staubach Grimes '86, committee chair for the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy's 14th Annual Celebration of Reading on October 12, kicked off her Books 4 Every Child campaign by donating 1,000 copies of her book Where is Pidge? to event attendees. Grimes is promoting literacy by encouraging others to give books to a child, family member, or community organization of their choice.

Alexandra Flegle '17, one of six winners of the 2015 Youth Leaders and Young Readers Essay Contest, was recognized at a related breakfast that morning at AT&T Stadium.

The Ursuline Professional Women's Network (UPWN) invites you to its Fall Luncheon — A Seat at the Table — on Tuesday, November 17, featuring award-winning television personality Jocelyn White. UPWN welcomes Ursuline alumnae, mothers of current students and alumnae, and their female colleagues. Learn more and register.
Alumnae Intramurals Cocktail Party 11/23
The fourth annual Alumnae Intramurals Cocktail Party brings you back to campus Monday, November 23, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. to take a walk down memory lane! Cast your vote to award the most deserving class with the "Alumnae Theme Award," based on best mural, hallway decoration, and class theme. Plus, there will be a special announcement about Ursuline Alumnae Weekend 2016. Alumnae and guests 21 and older are invited for drinks and appetizers. RSVP online.

  • Sister Joseph Marie of Infinite Mercy (AnneMarie McCulloh ‘84) celebrated her Silver Jubilee of Religious Profession (25 years) as a Discalced Carmelite Nun in Arlington, Texas, on November 7.
  • Michelle Thomas '08 graduated with her Masters of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting from the University of North Texas in May. She is currently teaching studio classes as an adjunct at UNT and Eastfield College. Michelle is also continuing her own work and will hold two solo shows next year at the Dallas Public Library's Lillian Bradshaw Gallery and TERRAIN Dallas.
  • Caroline Cristina Jones '10 is currently working on her masters at University of Texas and was chosen by her professors to manage an exhibit making its next to the last stop in the USA. The exhibit is entitled The Nazi Olympics: Berlin 1936 and is being shown in the Stark Museum at UT through January 29, 2016.
  • Amy Reisch '11, currently working in New York for Fork Films, is collaborating with Fr. Matthew Pawlikowski to produce a documentary about Fr. Emil Kapaun, an Army Chaplain, POW, and candidate for sainthood in the Catholic Church.
  • Caroline Cole '12 was recently featured in the Texas Tech Nursing blog for her participation on a medical mission trip to Jinotega, Nicaragua, where she and other health care students held make-shift clinics and provided clean water for residents.

  Ursuline's Holiday Bazaar is back and better than ever. Meet up with girlfriends, and kick off your holiday shopping season with bites and beverages at the Friday night Preview Party. Be the first to shop more than 60 vendors selling clothing, fashion accessories, home goods, collectibles, housewares, jewelry, and more.

Unique vendors include Tricia Ryan Jewelry and Lisa Mozley Designs; Elepants, an Ursuline student's sourced comfy pants from Thailand with sales supporting that country's elephants; and the Jesuit Rangerettes' stationery booth.
